Continuing his chant while the shadowy aura behind him expands and lengthens to resemble an enlarged Mimihagi, Ukitake explains that Kamikake expands the stilling power of Mimihagi from his lungs to all the organs in his body, letting it claim them and turning himself into the right arm of the Soul King.
