Though both projectiles hit Ichigo, who grunts in pain as he is obscured in a cloud of dust, Kariya narrows his eyes upon seeing the dust clear to reveal Ichigo glowing with blue Reiatsu and getting to his feet, leading Kariya to deduce that Ichigo reduced the damage done to his body by surrounding himself with Reiatsu as a barrier.
